Work That Scene with Minnie Mercury 5-Week Series | July 6–August 10 Mondays • 8:30-10:00 PM No Class July 20th Dress Rehearsal: Thursday, August 20 Student Showcase: Sunday, August 30 Tuition: $150 Are you a recovering theatre kid who wants to get back into it? Are you an active theatre kid who wants to learn more? Are you neither of these things and just want to learn how to be a theatre kid? Well then, this class is for you! Your resident burlesque theatre monger, Minnie Mercury, is bringing a class focused on character development, acting techniques, and script analysis. You will dive into the world of theatre and explore various acting techniques and styles to up your performance game. We will discuss how this work transfers to burlesque performance, but overall, this will be an acting and performance intensive class Students enrolled in this class will have the opportunity to perform at the Summer Sizzle recital with a memorized and rehearsed acting scene if they so desire. If not, this class will help set up foundations and help prepare you for Levels 3 and 4 within the Atlanta Burlesque Academy in the fall. You will leave this class with a greater understanding of intentionality, character development, memorization techniques, as well as how to take direction.
