Modern Technique with Champagne Sugar 6-Week Series | July 20th–August 24th Mondays • 8:30-10:00 PM Tuition: $180 Dress Rehearsal: Thursday, August 20 Student Showcase: Sunday, August 30 This class is designed to strengthen, tone, and stretch any and all body types while exploring rhythms of the diaspora. Utilizing recorded music and live musicians, a traditional warm-up, adagio combinations, and across the floor exercises are informed by Dunham technique and choreography is sprinkled with a little Bay Area and NYC spice. Dunham technique was founded by Ms. Katherine Dunham in Chicago, Illinois. She studied cultural anthropology throughout the Caribbean and West Indies, forming her professional international touring company in 1930. She is considered one of the Pioneers of Modern Dance in America. About Us: Atlanta Creative Arts (ACA) is an inclusive creative hub for intentional movement and artistic expression.
