Service Description
Masterclass: Burlesque History and Ethics with Lola LeSoleil Sunday, 1:00–2:25 PM Sept 13 $30 The history of Burlesque is a vast and surprisingly long one. Though many consider Burlesque a purely American artform of the "Golden Age" of the 1920s-1950s, it began long before then, and is deeply rooted in class systems and storytelling. Burlesque History & Ethics illuminates the historical arc of the "common man's" theatre, and why it is such an important and influential pillar of entertainment. We will then explore the ethical impact this form of theatrical storytelling has on society today and what its moral and political implications are for the future.
