Masterclass: Stitch Please-Hand Sewing with Lola LeSoleil Sunday, 1:00–2:25 PM Nov 15 $30 Are you baffled by a backstitch or stymied by a slip stitch? Does needle + thread + fabric = NOPE? Let’s untangle these knots for you! Hand sewing is an essential skill for finishing, mending, and adding findings (snaps, hooks, etc) or embellishments to costume projects. Machine sewing may be a convenient time-saver, but for tens of thousands of years, humans stitched clothing with humble hand needles. You’ve got this. Lola’s workshop will introduce basic hand stitches to help your DIY process and include a small sewing project utilizing techniques learned in class that you may complete at your leisure. Bring to class: Sharp hand-sewing needles Straight Pins Thimble 1 fat quarter of cotton fabric (approx. 18" X 22") and matching thread 1 fat quarter of coordinating/contrasting fabric (approx. 18" X 22") Sharp scissors to cut fabric and thread Disappearing ink marking pen Ruler or fabric measuring tape A way to take notes *ACA will have supplies on hand as well.
