Take your stage makeup beyond simply applying products and learn to see the face as blank canvas ready to be transformed into your unique creation. This masterclass explores the art and techniques of theatrical transformation with a particular emphasis on exaggerated features, drag, and character creation. We'll look at facial anatomy and structure to understand why contour and highlight work, how to adapt it to your unique facial features, and how to convey character through your makeup choices. Through lecture and demonstration, you'll learn how to visually analyze your face and use theatrical makeup techniques to reshape, exaggerate, and completely reinvent your features for the stage. Participants are welcome to bring their own mirror and makeup products if they would like to experiment and follow along during class, but hands-on participation is not required. Whether you're interested in drag, burlesque, theatrical performance, or simply want to push your makeup skills to the next level, this class is about learning to look at your face differently and discovering how much you can change with a little light, a little shadow, and a lot of imagination.
