The Atlanta Burlesque Academy FAQ
The Atlanta Burlesque Academy is a program dedicated to integrating emerging performers and producers into the professional burlesque industry. Our curriculum is designed to guide students from foundational training to a "fully realized" capstone project: either a debut solo performance or a produced show.

Graduation Requirements
To advance to Burlesque IV, students must complete the following core curriculum:

-
Burlesque I, II, and III
-
Choreographer’s Toolbox
-
Level Up Your Character
-
All required workshops
Note: It typically takes 3–4 semesters to complete these prerequisites. Once you reach Burlesque IV, you will be paired with a dedicated performance or production mentor for the duration of the semester.
What is the difference between Immersion vs. Intensive?
Both paths allow you to progress through the Academy, but they differ in structure and commitment:

-
Immersion Series (Recommended for Best Value): A comprehensive 12-week commitment. It includes all movement instruction, all required workshops, additional rehearsals, a professional promotional photoshoot, and a guaranteed spot in the end-of-semester Student Showcase.
-
Intensive Series: Designed for students with more flexible schedules, allowing you to progress in 6-week increments. While showcase participation is not required to advance to Burlesque IV, it is highly encouraged.
How to Graduate
Graduation is achieved by completing your core coursework (Levels I–III, Choreographer’s Toolbox, Level Up Your Character & workshops) followed by the successful completion of Burlesque IV. In this final phase, your mentor will provide one-on-one guidance to ensure your act or production is stage-ready for your debut.
